A Flyer's Commemorative Badge was instituted on 26 March 1936 to be awarded to all Luftwaffe personnel that been honorably discharged from flying duties. Both active and reserve personnel who had served as flyers during WW1 were qualified for the badge after only four years on flying status, all others were required to serve for a total fifteen years before the badge could be rendered. Several different variations was produced,in 1942 it was produced from alloy with two designs,the difference centered on the legs of the eagle, one pattern having a cut-out area around the legs and tail,the other pattern was solid. Badge is slightly worn excellent condition by C.E.JUNKER BERLIN SW,marked on reverse, measuring 55.14mm(h) x 42.74mm(w),weighing 25.1 grams.
