A Extremely fine early quality textbook example of a Luftwaffe Observer's Badge; two-piece construction; silverd tombac oval wreath with laurel wreaths towards the left side and oak leaves towards the right side, separated by three small ribbon-like loops on the bottom, with a large patinated eagle with spread-out wings superimposed on the badge, appearing as if it was attacking a mobile swastika;two rivets on the reverse; vertical needle style pinback with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch;maker marked "P.Meybauer,Berlin " on reverse;measuring 53×53mm;weighing 46.9 grams;with nearly all of its original finish remaining;a gently worn piece;in near Extremely mint condition .The Observer Badge was instituted on March 26,1936.
